UK not for profit business ( A Community Interest Company)

I am a Director of Community Interest Company (CIC) that is the UK equivalent non-profit organisation and has official status in the UK as a special kind of limited company (see the official Community Interest Regulator website for further information at http://www.bis.gov.uk/cicregulator/ ) .
Money earnt by the CIC can not be used for personal profit and has to be used for community purpose only.
When I registered a PayPal account (not the one associated with my personal and business accounts) for the CIC I stated we are a non-profit and this is the way that I understand we are viewed as in law.
PayPal do not seem to recognise our status as a non-profit, we have rung the telephone number listed on the PayPal website and have discussed this with them.
What is the next step we need to take to get our legal status recognised?

Hi there PaulWeaver,
I realise that you may be running a non profit organisation through your PayPal account and this can be done even if you are not a registered charity and can't provide a charity number to us.
Although you may be asked for a charity number through your PayPal account, we should be able to bypass this on your behalf. You will need to contact customer services and we may need to request that you provide us with some documentation in regards to the organisation before we will be able to approve non profit status on your PayPal account.
If you are facing difficulties when trying to contact us by phone, you also have the option to send us an email from your account if you wish. To do this, you click the Contact Us icon at the bottom of any PayPal webpage and then click the Email Us option.

We are having the same problem with our setup. And feel the CIC setup is not recognised in paypal? Please advise how we can setup as a not for profit account?
We have given all requested information.

Thanks for posting on the Community Forum about this.
As previously advised by my colleague David, the best way to find a solution to this issue would be to contact Customer Support directly so we can find a workaround, as there may be an option to bypass the requirement to provide documentation you don't actually have.
