HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

What is the email address that you set up that SELLERS can bombard PAYPAL with COMPLAINTS OF UNFAIR POLICIES TO SELLERS?

PAYPAL is also UNFAIR in HOLDING FUNDS in the dispute process.  PAYPAL allows sellers to file disputes too early when the package can be proven in transit!  This allows PayPal to HOLD SELLERS" MONEY TO EARN INTEREST during the long dispute process, even though the seller did nothing wrong.

Also, besides holding the payment in the fake dispute (i.e., there is no justifiable dispute -- the item is in transit -- but PAYPAL STEALS THE MONEY TO EARN INTEREST), they also STEAL MONEY FROM THE SELLER PAYPAL account for the shipping portion of the fake dispute -- which puts the seller in the negative becasue the money was spent to shipt it!  Totally insane practice!  Completely unfair to Wthe seller to make you go in the negative because you shipped the item in transit.  The whole dispute process is a SHAM designed to MAKE PAYPAL OWNS RICH ON INTEREST ON SELLERS PAYMENTS AND SHIPPING MONEY!

If we can as a group expose these practices to the general publci and authority figures, Paypal's reputation will be viewed negatively and perhaps they will care about their reputation and change their practices.

It is the only way we can fight back as PayPal owners are getting rich on unfair practices to sellers, so they don't care at all about our pleas for fairness.  Only when their reputation gets damaged and sellers stop sellling will they change their evil, greedy practices.

Paypal's HOLD politices for new buyers or allowing fake disputes for items proven in transit are a textbook example of corporate greed on a global level.  Paypal damages the global economy by tying up sellers's payments around the world.  This is the turth and they know it, but they don't care because the owners are becomign very wealthy at the sellers' expense.

Paypal was once a fair company before Ebay bought them.  Ebay was once a fair place to contact business when there where many other options for payments than just PayPal.  Now it is a monopoly and they aren't going to care about our complaints until the truth about their greedy, unfair practices begns to affect their income

I would like that email address also.

Also what else you can do is report them to the Federal Trade Commission and Consumers Affairs, I filed a complaint with both of them. If we all do this we as sellers can make an impact

I'm not a regular user of ebay/paypal but I do have an outstanding credit record and feedback from ebay so I find it very frustrating when you go through the prescribed process to sell a product, using the recommended shipping process through ebay, dealing with a certified paypal account and still the funds will not be released for 3 weeks. The parcel still sits at the post office awaiting for the client to pick it up and is fully insured as well as requiring a signature.

I can see why the class action lawsuit is moving forward and this will certainly be my last use of these services other than miscellaneous items.

I have been a PayPal member for a long time now.  I will admit that most of my transactions are purchases through Ebay, but I have sold items in the past and am beginning to do so again.   I have become painfully aware of this new Payment Hold policy.  I do understand that Paypal and Ebay are trying to protect the buyer but at what cost?  Here is how it has worked for me thus far....

I sell an item that is usually to be sent by regular mail, as indicated by my auction.  I now have to wait until either the buyer posts feedback, which doesn't always happens OR I input a tracking number using UPS OR 21 days have expired.  Again, I understand protecting the buyer, but I think we went the opposite end of the spectrum here.  I am now finding that I am charging a nominal fee for regular mail shipping but spending up to $20 on UPS just to be able to get my funds released before 21 days.   I cannot pass that shipping charge on to the buyer as a buyer would never pay for UPS shipping for a trading card, etc. (the type of items I'm selling).

I believe this to be bias and completely an unfair practice.   Essentially PayPal is *making* most people use UPS in order to receive their money as soon as possible.  Most people are selling items to make money, not to sit and wait for money.  By *making*, i'm saying that people will feel that they have no choice but to use UPS so they can input their tracking number and get their funds released in 3 days.   People don't want to sit around and wait for their money - especially when the buyer has had their item for up to 20 days without the seller receiving their funds.

My opinion is that PayPal has inked some nice deal with UPS and those who sit at the big table thought this would be a great way to increase UPS revenue because it will only take 1 or 2 times of waiting 21 days for payment and the seller will start to use UPS for all auctions as this is the fastest way to receive your funds.

This is an unfair practice!

I'm with you. I'm already sick of waiting on something that is mine to begin with.

I'm so sick I started another topic on it just so it might get noticed.

I think it's time for the people to get together on this.

Yeah this process is BS.  I have not sold on Ebay in along time end it will be a while before I do so again.

Ebay is losing customers left and right and their solution to the problem is to make the process more cumbersome for its seller's?

Great business plan guys.  Won't be too long before I see a best offer purchase item for the company listed.

How do I tell when a payment has cleared?  Since it's on a 21 day hold, it shows "pending" so there's no way to tell whether it actually cleared.  I don't want to ship the item and get ripped off if there's a chargeback.
