HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I totally agree!! When did PayPal start doing this?  I've had several sales lately, but none of the instant payments are showing up in my PayPal account. This is a terrible inconvenience to sellers!!!!Smiley Mad

I'm disgusted by the new payment hold policy.  I have JUST started a new online business that has nothing to do with eBay.  I have the payment hold policy too. I haven't made my first sale yet on the new web site as I just got it fully up today so I am fortunate that Pay Pal doesn't have any of my money yet. Go figure, get the web site up today & get the ridiculous email from pay pal this evening. I am at a loss as to what to do.  Does anyone know of another company that could be used to process payments with out outrageous fees and contracts etc?  I chose Pay Pal because my husband & I have used them for years to sell & buy items on eBay.  I decided to open a separate account with pay pal and attach it to my new business bank account so our around 850 100% positive feedback on eBay does me no good.  I don't know how I will replace sold inventory to keep the business going with the payment hold policy.  I think I will be looking for a different payment processing company that will value my business rather than practically escorting me to the door for attempting to do business with them ~ thoroughly offended!  From all the posts I have read it seems as if no one is getting anywhere with Pay Pal on this issue.  Any suggestions for another payment processing company would be appreciated.

I am beyond FRUSTRATED.   Paypal has NEVER done this to me before- I've been buying and selling on Ebay for 5 years without ever having any issues on either end.    Today I sell two NFL tickets to a game for NEXT Sunday and they tell me they're holding the money for three weeks?   The chic gets the tickets and goes to the game and I wait until the end of October for my funds?   I DONT THINK SO.    Refund to her and closing ebay account-  not sending my tickets without payment.  NO WAY,

Are the putting holds on money that is sent as a "gift" you could try and start telling people they have to send it as a gift......but you cant use ebays express check out that way......also I dont think paypal charges you for the money when sent as a gift unless they changed that recently also.... when I sell on forums I and other members always send the money as a gift that way you dont get charged for receiving money.....

Anybody know of any alternatives to ebay/paypal?  Ive sold on eBay for years on a shared account, within the last few months I opened my own account and was doing great, I had no issues with it, just as I didnt before.  I use eBay to get rid of the stuff I dont want anymore, some people really enjoy the handiness of using it for just that.  If you want something specific theres probably 1,001 people selling it online.  My last few sales have recieved the same "holding money" message and im tired of it as everybody else is.  Im kind of in need of the money in my account, the buyer wont respond to any of my messages (I believe the account may have been shut off) and I still cannot have any of my funds.  It used to be easy, now I am looking for alternatives.

There have to be other options for getting money other than pay pal. They keep tightening the **bleep**s to the sellers and making it easier and easier for buyers to rip of sellers. If you sell you loose! If you buy just gripe like crazy&get what you want.Right or wrong get your money back&keep the item.Just threaten to open a case or leave negative FEEDBACK.Isn't that extortion? pay pal will penalize the seller and then in addition, hold their funds.  When is it going to end.  When will pay pal and eBay get on the same program about customer service. Seems they don't follow their own policies?  I am so sick of pay pal that I have spent my entire day figuring out another option, instead of listing!!!  I know I am not the only person that hates pay pal...I just need someone to post, where to go, how else to get paid without using pay pal.  Any ideas out there?

The new policy of Pay Pal to hold our funds is nonsense. The fact that EBay is allowing and enforcing this policy is outrageous. After about a dozen phone calls I finally got EBAY to give me an email address so that all of us can formally lodge a complaint. Although it took me several tried to understand what the person on the line was saying and she didn't know how to spell the email address !!. SELLERS UNITE EMAIL YOUR FORMAL COMPLAINTS TO THAT ADDRESS. Maybe if enough of us do it we can crash their system. This policy is unconscionable and should not be allowed. In fact if any of you are lawyers out there I would be interested to know if it is legal to hold our funds like this !! There isn't a bank in the country that will hold funds like this if the transactions are within the US. The policy is under the guise of sellers not shipping quickly. If that is the case penalize THEM NOT US who ship promptly. THIS POLICY **bleep**!!!!! Email your complaints to: sneakpeek@ebay.com

they dont care, I have 6500 feedbacks and quit selling on ebay in Jan(Amazon only) and I had some junk to sell on ebay and decided to get rid of it, well my ebay account was limited and paypal placed a 21 day hold on funds now. Not sure why I was scrutinized but I was told if you  have no sales within 90 days you are considered a NEW seller?? WTF? Been on ebay since 2001, same account and this is how I am treated? I finally faxed all the info and account is fixed, but my desire to remain here as a customer is slim to none. Shop Amazon, they dont do this garbage!

there doing the same thing to me. So I'm done with them to I'm going to close down both my ebay and my paypal account. and go to Amazon a much better company. I believe what they are doing is illigal and I have filed a complaint with the FTC  and Consumer Affairs.
