Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them! Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

How the *BLEEP* do you send PayNOTmyPal the tracking numbers for items that seller has shipped ? I can't find THAT info ANYWHERE on your crappy website ! I'm SURE, intentionally obscured ! This is a lot of crap !!! I am VERY dissatisfied with Ebay and PayPal especially, but since you are one in the same technically you both **bleep**. I'm sick of PayPal holding my funds hostage for their own financial gain. I am pursuing joining a class action suit against PayPal for this scam.
VERY UNHAPPY longtime PayPal user...

It's very impressive that you know what a paragraph is, as any fifth grader should. And the spell check remark, brilliant. You must be one of those people who laugh at, and make fun of mentally challenged people. Nice. Hope you are smart enough to note the sarcasm. You probably work for Paypal too. Grow up.
I did not rep;y to thisposting for that reason though. I have written several posts on this problem because I think it's wrong for any type of broker to hold funds. Can you imagine your bank telling you that they were going to put a hold on any purchases from your business, until they were told by your customer that they were completely satisfied with the transaction. It's total BS.
My latest experience with paypal was not bad. I thought it was going to a real hassle getting my money anytime soon. I also thought about not shipping the item until the funds were cleared, but I shipped it the next day, and surprisingly, the buyer received the item 2 days later. Fortunately, the buyer was an honest person, with 100% positive reviews on ebay, and Paypal cleared my funds within a couple of hours after receiving the positive review. So they really only kept it on hold for about 4 days. You have to be fortunate enough to have an honest buyer though, otherwise you're going to be waiting a long time to get paid.
The only thing I can suggest is to check out the buyers reviews, because obviously Paypal doesn't. I still believe that this hold policy is bias to the seller, but it doesn't seem like this policy is going to change, and if sellers hold shipments, the funds won't ever clear. It'spretty much only going to make buyers give you bad reviews and take even longer to get your money.

It isn't that difficult, as you say. But predatory banking is predatory banking...I've done business with both eBay and PayPal for years, and the only reason I'm being **bleep**ed out of my money is because as Seller, I have no recourse or rights, even when I have evidence that I've done nothing wrong.
IF they're holding my money, they need to pay interest on it.

Why is paypal doing this to me? I have had 0 problems...nothing but fast shipping and happy customers. Now they want to hold payments for 21 days or until they can tell the buyer got the item?
I'm going to have to quit selling until this is lifted... I sell things on ebay and use part of the money to ship items... pay bills... etc..
Wow paypal you amaze me... and not in a good way!

Hi. I also have had a 21 day hold put on my paypal account and I cannot figure out why. I have called 3 times and emailed once in the last 2 weeks and have not received an answer from anyone. Every time I have called, the operator that I'm speakingwith doesn't see anything negative on my account either. They simply cannot figure out why my account is on hold because I have 100% Positive Feedback from my customers and I have not had any problems with my Paypal balance and have always paid my fees on time. If you have heard anything, please let my know.
Thanks.

Some held payments were released rather quickly. Of course I shipped fast and buyers left positive feedback.
One payment specifically... buyer left good feedback after package was delilvered.... will it's been a week since then and they are still holding my money.
It would be nice if I was making interest on the held money lol... when you're selling things like silver and gold you need the money right away.... like right now I would be using that money to buy more silver since the price has dropped... but I can't since paypal is holding it hostage.

I agree.....4 out 5 of my last sales have completed the feedback, however PayPal is refusing to release my money which goes against their policy.
