The Difference Between PayPal and a Real Merchant Account With a Real Merchant Account, your funds are directly deposited into your personal or business bank account, which you control and which is also protected by Federal Banking Regulations. With PayPal, your money is deposited into a PayPal Account, which PayPal Fully Controls. Since PayPal is NOT a bank, they do not need to follow federal banking regulations. These regulations are designed to help the "Average Joe" avoid issues like having their bank account frozen for weeks or months with no explanation. "Who would trust their money with a bank that could do that?" Sadly, Paypal routinely freezes its customers' accounts for almost anything and without warning. Once an account is frozen, the funds are often held by PayPal for months on end with Absolutely No Recourse for the merchant. A domino effect occurs when a PayPal account is frozen, leaving the merchant with No Means To Fill Orders. Those orders are then disputed by customers, creating more chargebacks and the illusion of fraudulent activity on the part of the merchant. The Bottom Line? Accept credit cards with a Real Merchant Account **bleep** PAYPAL

Is that what we are calling our held funds? They are being held 'secure' for us? Bahahahahahahahahahaahahaha!!!!!!! If you don't get paid, you don't ship. Seems simple enough to me!

I no longer use eBay and I use PayPal only in the most dire of circumstances. I went to Webstore. Here is my standard answer to people fed up with PayPal. Hope it helps. First file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, it only takes a few minutes. Next do the same with the BBB. Lastly and most importantly, go to 'WEBSTORE' and do your business there, no fees, no holds and no bullcrap. You can use Google Checkout and drop PayPal. You can also go to 'Yola' and open a free website and post all these complaints for the world to see. I am building several websites as we speak to get the word out. Keep an eye out for anyone starting a class action lawsuit over this policy and JOIN IT.

Having a hold on seller's funds is complete garbage. I don't care how PayPal justifies it, it is wrong. Calling them and talking to the representatives is useless because they are talking monkeys, you can't even get the same answer from 2 different people. Trying to get paid by other means is mostly useless unless you use an eBay 'approved' method, this means a method that they can profit from. I had over $500.00 withdrawn from my account with no notice by PayPal, and nothing but problems ever since. I have over 400 transactions and 100% positive feedback. I have had it with these gustapo tactics. The minute an alternative presents itself I will leave PayPal immediately. What they have created is a monopoly and controlling our funds has to be illegal regardless of the user agreements. You cannot enforce an illegal agreement even if signed by the user. I would gladly join a class action lawsuit against this policy if sellers were to organize and fight for our freedom.
