HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

They hold funds always. The 18th of January I sold a camera and guess what, no feedback. I attempted to contact the buyer 4 or 5 times and requested he please leave feedback. Still no contact. So I whitepaged his phone number and sent him an email that stated the # of times I tried to reach him and included his phone number and I claimed on ebay I hadn't received funds which I hadn't because paypal was holding them. So the jerk left negative feedback because I filed a claim I hadn't been payed and was harassing him about feedback. I then ended up with a number to paypal (in India of coarse), went on a bitching spree with them and they released my money. One thing for sure, I'm never coming back!

My wife and I use to have an eBay store. We shut it down about four years ago. It appears things have gotten worse since then. I made my first purchase in over a year and am having trouble paying for it. There's no toll free phone number to date to call for help. We have just switched banks and as we have a business PayPal account they wouldn't let me proceed until I posted an updated bank card I hadn't yet received. It took me two days for them to let me pay via eCheck. PayPal processes millions of dollars annually. They're too concerned about getting their fees and any possible interest from ( all of ) our money. They withdrew the money five days ago to pay for the purchase and they still haven't cleared the eCheck to the seller. They did post an approximate clearing date between 2/2 - 2/5 for the eCheck to clear. This is ridiculous. Personally, I wouldn't both trying to sell anything on eBay any more. Use Craig's List. It's free and to give you an idea how concerned eBay is regarding Craig's List they own 28% of it. Good Luck!

Although eBay is putting their spin on this bit of today's news I am always skeptical of when  member of a Board of Driectors jumps ship early on.  Think they know something we are just figuring out.

Spoke with lawyer, he is willing to file class action suit if I can get people together. If you are interested send and email to bayoubasement at msn . com...  I am compiling a list and if he gets enough interest he will set things up for all comers to get on board. Write a brief explanation of your difficulty and the fact that you believe this is and attempt to hold your funds for there interest profit. All I need right now is your email. If we have enough he will contact and get pertinent info.

Spoke with lawyer, he is willing to file class action suit if I can get people together.

Translation - he's willing to earn a lot of fees filing a motion that he doesn't think will succeed.

You have to have similar problems, SPECIFIC similar problems, to get a class action suit going.

All you're going to do wit this guy is give him a list of emails to peddle to some spammer.

Everyone getting their fees held do have a similar problem.  I'm sure they don't all have to be exactly the same.  true giving out email addy's is risky, but I'm sure we all have more than one.   If it's crap forward the mail to the spam folder.

I for one wanna hear what the lawyer has to say.

Oh, I can tell you what he's going to say.

He's going to say that you have an "arguable case".

That does not mean that you have a winnable case - it just means that he can construct some sort of argument that he's willing to take into Court.

He'll ignore the fact that Paypal has an iron-clad agreement with each of the litigants that allows them to do what they're doing - you couldn't have signed up for Paypal or continued with the account without it.

And it'll take Paypal about 15 minutes to have this case thrown out.

But, go ahead, waste your money.
