Does PayPal charge additional fees aside from the expected fee when confirming a Visa debit card?

I linked my Visa debit card today - it was successful and I was charged with 100 PHP which will be refunded soon. However, there was an additional charge of 52.60 PHP with the same caption (VISA POS Debit) that was charged at the same time my debit card was confirmed. Please note that I did not request to resend the confirmation code for the card.

if not then it sounds like money is still owed for something historically that Paypal have taken payment for/

I've never seen more than £1 taken in setting up a card.

I could be wrong though and I'm sure there is someone with much more knowledge then me that will be able to give you a more accurate answer.

I understand you have some concerns about adding a debit card, @virt2022. When adding a card, there should only be one small charge. However, if you're adding and confirming a bank, you may see two small random deposits and one withdrawal. I recommend reviewing your transaction history to see if an automatic payment was processed after you added your card. If you don't see any extra charges on your PayPal account that match the amount on your bank account, please contact Customer Support for further assistance.
