I've used Paypal & Ebay since 2009 & this is the first time something like this has happened.
My personal checking account with about $700 in it at the time, was linked to my Paypal account.
I have Paypal Credit established for the last few years.
The problem is, apparently Ebay has made changes where offers are automatically paid for if they are accepted, which I had no idea about & somehow it was setup, I guess by default, to come from my checking account or Paypal linked-checking account.
I thought if the offer was accepted, Ebay would then give me a chance to review the taxes, shipping & overall amount, before I authorize payment.
I wanted to attempt the payment with Paypal Credit... NOT my checking account that was linked to my Paypal account. (The purchase was for $1,400 & I only had $700 in the checking account)
The transaction... somehow.... was allowed to go through anyways, the seller shipped the item & I've signed for it.
What wasn't the transaction denied? I didn't have funds in the checking account to cover the one-time payment of $1,400 (I only had around $700 available)...
Any other time I may have attempted to make a purchase with insufficient funds in the past, it would deny the transaction. Why was this one allowed to go through & what will happen with my account? I don't have $1,400 available, I wanted the purchase to be covered by Paypal Credit.
