I have a UK Paypal account which has USD in it. I want to withdraw my USD in USD to a bank outside the UK but whenever I try it insists on changing the payment to GBP! I have also tried moving it to a Revolut card, same problem. Please help.

Hello @pixie63 and @kernowlass

Thanks for stopping by and posting in the PayPal Community!

I'm sorry to hear that you're unable to withdraw in USD, as desired, @pixie63. When withdrawing to a bank, the currency selected will always match the default currency on your PayPal account. However, you can request that Customer Support update the default currency on your card. Please note this will change the currency for both withdrawing and purchases. You can review the different options for contacting Customer Support on our Help Center here

I would also like to mention that @kernowlass is not an employee but a member of the community who is very helpful in assisting many who need it. Thank you, @kernowlass! Anyone who interacts on the PayPal Community and is employed by PayPal is designated as an employee, moderator, or admin.

I hope you both have a lovely day and that the information I've provided is able to help you withdraw in USD, @pixie63!

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

You say that I can get customer services to update the currency on my "card", do you mean account please?

The problem is that my Paypal account is in the UK so in GBP.  I have received money into the account in USD and I want to transfer it out of the account in USD but Paypal UK keep insisting that they can only move it out of the Paypal account in GBP.

I have tried to get them to do this many times.

So can I do it please?

With regard to kernowlass I did apologise to him/her when I first said this.

Thank  you

Elvina

Hey @pixie63

Thanks for responding back! When you withdraw from your PayPal account to your bank account, the money will be converted automatically to the local currency. If you're looking to withdraw to a card, you first need to update the currency of the card to USD in your PayPal account to get the funds in USD. You have to contact the team to get the changes to your card in your PayPal account. Please refer the link shared by @PayPal_Meghan to reach the support team. Support is also available through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.

Good luck,

Bindu

I am going crazy.  I have been told again today that I cant get my USD funds even though the currency on my card is set to USD.  I am being told that I have to transfer it to GBP when I need it in USD.  You have told me that I can do this but I am being told that I cant.  What is going on please and how do I get my USD in USD onto my USD card?  Thanks

Hi      Thanks for your reply.  I have contact customer support many times and they just keep saying that if I want my money I have to have it in GBP and cant have it in any other currency even though its already in USD which is how I want it.  I have tried to raise a complaint and I get nowhere.  The last time that I tried they never responded to my message.  Is there an email address where I can make a formal complaint please?  Thank you.

Hi @pixie63

Thanks for reaching back out!

I understand you've reached out to Customer Support a few times, and your withdrawals are still not being processed in USD. I certainly understand the frustration you're experiencing, and it's not an experience you should be having.

All available options for contacting Customer Support would show when you select 'Contact' at the bottom of any PayPal webpage or by visiting our Help Center here. If an email isn't showing, that means there isn't one available for your area. However, if you select 'Complaints' at the bottom of any PayPal webpage, you can submit a formal complaint.

I truly hope that they are able to help update your information so your withdrawals are processed in USD soon. Have a beautiful rest of your day!

- Meghan
