Payment gone to wrong account but still pending due to direct transfer from bank, can I stop it?

Payment was sent to the wrong account due to a typo. The payment was sent directly from my bank so the payment should theoretically take 3-5 days. Can I stop it? PayPal have told me there is nothing they can do but that doesn’t seem right? Trying with my bank but no luck as yet they are trying to bounce me back to PayPal.
