PAYPAL AUTOMATIC PAYMENT on websites, NO choice of payment method: do you hate this as much as i do?

Paypal, this needs fixed,it is  HORRIBLE, atrocious,  and harmful.

why on earth does paypal  force us to always pay with the same payment method once we   pay for something on a website ?    that is the worst possible thing. We need to CHOOSE which  payment method we want to use , every time we  sign in to paypal from the  online site , to pay. It is totally disastrous to automatically use the same payment method  when we need to use something else.

Just because we paid using paypal before, does not IN ANY WAY mean that  the next time we pay  on that site, we should always be forced to use  the SAME payment method we have used there before,  with paypal . But the linkage  forces it on us , sometimes disastrously. We  are expecting paypal to let us choose and instead it  pays using some  wrong payment method because our previous transaction with that merchant used it. OUTRAGEOUS.

ALL WE NEED IS TO  GET SIGNED IN TO PAYPAL from that merchant site. and THEN CHOOSE OUR PAYMENT METHOD each time!  forcing us to use same payment method without any  choice, automatically transacted with no input from us,  probably got  quite a few  bank accounts overdrawn, since  paypal never   let us choose payment method, just automatically  transacted with same  payment method we used a year ago. ARE YOU JOKING?.

No  other way of paying with paypal is offered on  these merchant sites , it is all automatic once we paid for something one time using paypal.  It's always the same payment method ie card or bank, but WE don't know which payment method is stored . Because there's no way to see  which one is stored , from a year ago,  at checkout, nor change it.  We aren't going to  memorize  which payment method we used on paypal  from 100 different  shopping sites.

SO WE NEED TO JUST GET TAKEN TO PAYPAL AND  SIGNED IN, AND THEN CHOOSE OUR PAYMENT METHOD  AGAIN. Especially when  we have NOT consciously and  actively chosen to have the same payment method for a recurring payment such as  a DELIBERATELY CHOSEN ( by the customer)  monthly automatically paid   subscription  etc. Single transactions should NOT use  same payment method automatically all the time, without our consent, and not actively chosen. When  NO choice to pay with same  payment method ( or not) has been given.

FIX THIS HORRENDOUS  THING PAYPAL! you will do  most of us a huge  favor and stop  this terrible erroneous problem. Let us choose our payment method in every transaction unless we  actively chose otherwise. In  all cases so far, NO website ever asked me nor gave me any choice nor did you.

Yes, I hate the fact of not being able to choose what card I want to use at checkouts and having to log on paypal before each transaction to make a manual adjustment. Sadly, I'm stopping to use paypal just because of that.

I'm on a desktop computer and having the same problem. If I bought something from a website, I'm automatically logged in to PayPal and don't even see the login screen. So anyone could sit down and really rip me off and I also can't choose whether to go with a card or bank. I used to change the auto sign-ins on the PayPal website, but I don't see any options to do that now. I've also checked my browsers and they are not holding my PayPal information. I need this changed, too. Anyone have any answers?

I did use the chat box, but it was automated stuff and asking questions with no bearing on the situation. I also called PayPal and the person I talked to didn't know anything about it, but suggested maybe the browser was saving the login. No, it isn't. There used to be a section under Security settings on the PayPal website where you could really manage your password settings for websites--you could delete the auto login for those websites because once in a while, PayPal decided to store them for whatever reason. It's no longer there. Auto login does take away your choice to use a bank or card, which is maddening. But the really big thing is that this is very poor security and I can do nothing about it. I would love to check a box for absolutely no auto login on all websites.
