Good day everyone. Someone sent funds in form of goods and services (he sent $500 and I was credited with $485). I sent a refund immediately ($500). Did I make a mistake? Was I meant to send $485 instead?

Why did you refund? Did you not want to sell the item he paid for?
Anyway you have to issue a full refund but paypal does not return your fee as part of the refund you issue the buyer.
So your fee amount would have been taken from your funding source ie bank account or card if you did not have enough in your balance to issue a full refund.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
