Phone number security.

When you use Paypal to make a purchase online (from Bestbuy for example), does Paypal provide the merchant (i.e. Bestbuy) with your phone number?

Obviously they provide your address for shipping, but do they also provide the phone number on your account? I ask because my work phone that is connected to my Paypal account is now a lightning rod for spam calls and texts. I am concerned that I have unknowingly given my phone number out to store and services via Paypal.

Welcome to the PayPal Community! This is a great question. Per our Privacy and Security Agreements, we only share the minimal amount of necessary information through our payments. When you send money to a friend for a personal payment, they'll see your name and email address, not your financial info. Wen you pay for a good or service, the seller will see your shipping address, name, and email, but not anything else.
