Payment done without logging in, can this be disabled? (no login payment)

Hello,
I did a purchase online (on a windows 11 computer, using firefox latest version) and noticed that the payment went through without logging in (!)
The payment immediately went through.
How is this possible? And can this be disabled?
I always want to enter my password when doing a payment.
If this is a feature, isn't this open to abuse? (someone else doing unauthorized purchases using my email address?)

Thank you for your post. I apologize for any confusion. It appears that the information given by @Harley125 assumes you have an unauthorized transaction, which doesn't appear to be the situation here.
I regret that it is not possible to turn off the ability to make a guest payment. If you would like to ensure that you use your PayPal account every time, you'll need to make sure you're choosing to checkout with PayPal when prompted for the option, rather than using other checkout options. When clicking to checkout with PayPal, it should get you logged in on the PayPal site before returning you to the checkout.

It happens. Hit the "Login to Ask the community" button to create a question for the PayPal community.
