Ricnok, I downloaded an entire history report and when you open it in excel or openoffice, whichever, you can filter the records that go to both USPS and eBay shipping. The one annoyance about it is that each shipping transaction shows that the payment was sent to Ebay Shipping XXXXXX where there is a different value for XXXXXX per label. It makes filtering a little less intuitive.

Judy, the eBay combined shipping process has been around for at least a year. I remember buying a couple items and paying in one shot. There is no excess shipping charges. From the sellers perspective, they get paid exactly the same amount for the items and shipping as if the customer wasn't paying all at once.

I loved the new platform and had no problems with it, will it be coming back?

me too.  it was working great if you're doing up postage labels direct from the PayPal side as opposed to from within eBay as I'm reading alot of gripes from that end.  that printing of first class intl postage/customs form sent me into orbit! 😉

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I am in favor of letting us choose.  I love it.  If you stay with the current, PLEASE ADD THE REGION BOXES FROM THE POST OFFICE.

This saves me alot of money on shipping.

There is NO ADOBE PLUGIN for LINUX!

The old way actually worked, and the new one doesn't work on any of our linux PCs.

I understand that Linux fans are really crafty. Someone should write an adobe plugin. The problem though, is that LINUX is a tiny minority in the grand scheme of users so it would hardly be a reason not to impliment what eBay would consider a better shipping platform.

I feel that it would be very ignorant ebay/paypal to use propriatary plugins instead of web standards.  If they would just build the tool with Javascript, CSS and HTML, or just let the program generate us a PDF instead of an arbitrary check for a plugin, it would always be cross-platform for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android and any future platofrm that anyone could imagine.

I have my dad running linux cause his Windows PC kept getting infected even with anti-virus, since he switched, he hasn't had a single issue other than this one.

Although it is not very large, linux users account for 1-2% of all web-browsing, and much more if you include Android, which is a linux varient.

The paypal homepage says that over 100 Million people use paypal world wide, so that's 1-2 million angry linux paypal users.

Bottom line: They are probably getting a kick-back from Adobe.

Earlier this month, PayPal shipping was not accessible, and PayPal CS agents were saying that all shipping was now going to be processed through eBay.

I found this unacceptable on many levels:

  • eBay systems are frequently subject to glitches, removal of PayPal shipping would leave no back up in place. As a seller who offers same day shipping, this would negatively impact my business.
  • PayPal customer service excels where as eBay Customer Service is essentially clueless and is largely incapable of answering questions except[t by reading scripts.
  • eBay messaging to buyers with shipping confirmation allowed significantly less space for personalizing messages. Funny how eBay wants to allow sellers to be rated on Communication, then limits the length of communication sellers can have with buyers.
  • As a seller on platforms other than eBay, I have no interest in processing shipping labels through eBay for non eBay transactions, and if eBay is going to become the only shipping service, I would then sign up with a third party postage provider and take all of my shipping business to that service.
  • The sudden unannounced change imposed at the beginning of the Holiday Season showed absolutely no consideration for sellers in light of the fact that eBay/PayPal CEO previously promised that seller facing changes would be announced with 60 days notice, and that no changes would be made during the Holidays.

My Questions:

  1. Is PayPal shipping back to stay, or is it back just for the Holidays and are we going to be forced to go through eBay again later?
  2. Why has information not been posted and made public in the interest of keeping us informed as to what is going on? The lack of information before, during and after this on again/off again change makes it seem as though this company has little or no regard for keeping their fee paying customers fully informed and up to date.

Thanks for your response.
