I'm have the same problem since Saturday afternoon (19 Nov 2011)

I've experienced this problem many times before but usually the system is back online without problems. But this is the longest its been for us.

Please note sometimes this can occur due to the the Recipients address too. Basically the address should be entered in basic english numerals and alphabet. Sometimes you find some customers using names of places, towns, cities with letters using symbols. Unfortunately Paypal does not recognize these and hence you can edit the address by removing the symbols and re-typing the name in plain english. This removes the error and you can continue processing the Postage Label.

For the current issue im having with this error message this is not the case, the addresses are perfect....it seems to be a problem on PayPals side. I've tried 2 laptops and one home computer to print labels but its all the same....I don't know when Paypal will recognize that this payment system needs to be purely secured and functioning at all times....if it continues like this I may have to choose an alternative method since it deeply affects us.

I have just spoken with customer services this is apparantly an issue with Royal Mail Postage, it was expected to have been back up and running by 5pm but now they have just been told it will be before the next working day, so I guess it will be anytime before 9am tomorrow.

It would be helpful if paypal had a notice board posting these issues somewhere at least then we would not all be chasing our tails.

I just now printed one - so it should be back up & running.

I did however notice its not calculating price correctly for First Class Packages - so make sure that you are double checking your costs with USPS.com

Royal Mail had major upgrade to their website - and it's pants...

Bugs galore, it wasn't tested properly being released.  Now it's impacting paypal, because they are calling the same webservices on Royal Mail website...

Just pants from 2 major organizations - who can't even test something simple before releasing the software.

Royal Mail Customer Help Line says that this problem will be resolved 'In the near future'

This is just a joke. When is the near future? and how can a major organisation

not be able to sort out a problem that they've created for themselves.

Easy solution as anyone who knows anything about websites is to just go

back to the old version while you sort out the new offline, then try again!!!!!

Should take a couple of hours at most, not try and sort out the bugs in the

new system while their customers suffer the effects for day after day.

And I can't believe that PayPal haven't sent an email advising it's customers of this problem.

Unfortunately no success with the updating!!!!!

I also rang PayPal and I was informed it was a Royal Mail issue. I guess thats confirmed, and maybe PayPal shouldn't be held accountable for this

What annoys me is PayPal not issueing pre-warning notifications advising of the works being carried out or expected delays. I expected a better service in terms of customer relations. We shouldn't be left clueless of certain aspects of business support, especially when the required notifications are not exactly rocket science.
