What happens to the pending payment if it's not accepted?

I bought an item on kmart.com and used PayPal as one of the offered there payment options, I received the confirmation from PayPal that my money had been sent and pending now. But kmart didn't complete the order and sent me back to the payment options page, like I didn't pay yet. I don't want to pay again if my money had been sent already. I guess, something went wrong. Can anyone tell me what happens to the pending order if it's not being accepted? Will I get a money refund on my bank account? or PayPal credit? Or how can I cancel this payment?

Is it possible to send money from my paypal account to someone else who has paypal? Will this be for free? or does Paypal receive a fee

I dont know the answer on your question, I never used Paypal for this purpose, but I can tell you how I started the topic. You should see the option to start  a topic on top right above the picture.

I have a similar situation and am interested in the resolution.

Kmart.com didn't complete the order giving the message "We're sorry, we are unable to process the Pay Pal information online at this time.Please enter another form of payment to proceed online."

Unfortunately, I tried again and got the same error.

Now I have multiple "pending" transactions for Kmart.com that I cannot cancel.  I have emailed Kmart's customer service but haven't gotten a response yet (and if their customer service is as good as their order processing system, I probably never will).

I had the exact same problem this morning with Kmart. I now have the Pending status, too. The customer service rep wasn't all that helpful, but from what I was able to gather, unless Kmart accepts it, which they won't because the order didn't actually go through on their end (check your order history--it shouldn't be there--my items stayed in the cart, unpurchased), after about 5 business days the Pending transaction will be canceled by PayPal.

Has this been resolved yet?  Was it debited from your payment source?  My understanding from what I'm reading it takes 30 days for unclaimed money to be available.  Sure hope this is not the case 😞

It's been 6 days, and my PP account still says "Pending", however, no money has left my bank account, and Kmart (the merchant) did not receive my order twice (once via PayPal, and once via regular credit card).

Had the same problem but with WalMart!  Very frustrating!  The order did not go through, I tried cancelling payment and of course what paypal tells you to do won't work!  And they tell you to contact the merchant, good luck with that because there is NO order, it didn't go through so what is the merchant going to do about a non-existant order.  I sure hope they don't hold my money I need it!  So now I have double "pendings' on my account and no order!  Afraid to order anything else from Ebay or a merchant because I don't want this mess to continue.   Merry Christmas!!!!!!!

You would think that both Paypal and Kmart would have a solution to this by now.

They've been holding my money hostage for four days now. I called Kmart, right up to the corporate office. They say there's nothing they can do about it because they never received the order at all, and to call Paypal. Paypal says there is nothing they can do about it and to call Kmart. Meanwhile, this money which was DONATED by several people to do Christmas shopping with for a family we adopted for Christmas is unavailable to me. And yet neither side will budge. I've never been unhappy with Paypal. I am now, though. Also, I'll never buy another thing from Kmart. Good luck getting your money back.
