Taking Paypal payments for services

I'm thinking of using Paypal on my website as the payment option.

I sell a training package which purchasers get when they pay.

As a result of doing the training, purchasers produce a document.

I then want to offer a supplementary service that critiques that document. This service would take 24 hours for the critique to be completed and delivered.

Importantly the supplementary service would be paid for 24 hours before it is provided, is this within Paypal rules?

Hi there Coops16,

Welcome to the Community!

Firstly, services and intangible items aren't covered under our Buyer or Seller Protection Policies. This would mean that buyers who purchase items from you wouldn't be able to open a dispute for an item not received or an item not as described.

It would however mean that if you received a payment that was unauthorised, you wouldn't receive a reimbursment from PayPal under our Seller Protection Policy.

I just need to let you know that if you are providing services, you wouldn't be covered in the event of a payment being placed under investigation and then refunded at a later stage.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions in future.

David
