The following  note has been posted against a payment;

''While you build up a history of selling on eBay, you may have to wait up to 21 days until you can access your money. You may get it sooner, but it may take longer if your buyer reports a problem with the sale.''

There is no problem with the sale to a Japanese buyer. However such a move by Paypal puts me at risk. I have been selling on ebay for some years......what is this??

The 21-day fund availability policy occurs for new or inexperienced sellers who do not have a great selling track record. More about this selling record here: http://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/payments-and-fees/funds-availability.html   You will get you funds as promised if there are no problems with the purchase, as you say so, 21 days after the purchase date.   However, you can get these funds 3 days after your delivery confirmation date if you print postage labels from Paypal/Ebay or use a courier service with tracking information (such as Royal Mail or FedEx) AND THEN upload this tracking information to PayPal for both methods - tracking information will automatically update on your eBay account too so buyer will be informed.   OR    You mark the item as sent on your eBay account and then funds shall be released to you 7 days after the estimated delivery date.   If you take none of these actions, then your funds will be available 21 days after the purchase date.
