Cancelled payment through e bay

I wanted to sell an item through e bay, one of the customers sent the payment to my paypal account but i instantly cancelled the payment, but the customer claiming that he have not got the refund!! How can I know he received or not?! Or he might receive it later on! Because he asks for immediate refund and I am afraid if i send him the money and the cancellation that i made become active later on ending me up by losing money !!

If you have received a payment and the transaction is showing as Cancelled or Refunded, the buyer should have received their funds back.


Depending on how the payment was originally funded, the refund could be appearing in different places.

 

If the payment was funded from their PayPal balance or bank account, the payment would be refunded directly back to their PayPal balance. If funded from their bank linked to PayPal, the payment could be placed on hold after it was refunded. It can take in total 5-7 working days from when the original payment was sent in order for the payment to complete processing from the bank account. Then the funds will be credited to their PayPal balance.

 

If the payment was sent with a credit or debit card, we would refund the payment directly back to the card that was used. That takes on average between 3-5 working days to appear on their card transactions.
