Had to get my bank to dispute some scam payments on Paypal - and now Paypal has limited my account and wants me to prove who I AM.
Trying to confirm my bank just didn't work over and over - they charged me 1.99 - I input the code - but STILL it wanted me to confirm my bank. So I uploaded a statement - and now that's "pending" .
I have zero photo ID - there's another option to "confirm ID" - but clicking on it on the app takes me in a loop back to the previous page - and clicking it in a browser sends me to a page telling me "Sorry, we couldn’t confirm it’s you. Need a hand? We can help". So annoying. How can I prove who I AM without photo ID or when the link DOES NOT WORK?? .
I'm THIS CLOSE to closing my account and being finished with Paypal. The fact that I needed my bank to help me with a Paypal scam cos Paypal has not helped - tells me I don't need Paypal cos I only use it for fraud protection - which was NOWHERE when I needed it.
Meanwhile I'm getting emails from direct debits telling me they can't get their money .
I called the "help" line and was asked for some one-off code which I had no idea about. Oh and trying "live chat" tells me that's it's not actually available. The most frustrating company to contact ever.

When you click to phone customer services they give you the number and then a one time code so that when you get through they have your account details ready to help you.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Ok, thanks. It would have been very helpful if that info was mentioned on the CALL US page.
What about the "CONFIRM ID" link going either in a loop or saying "Sorry, we couldn’t confirm it’s you. Need a hand? We can help"?

Hi @Jaws9,
Thank you for your posts. I'm sorry to hear that there's been a loop in the confirmation of identity, and that you've additionally experienced frustration contacting PayPal.
If the loop is happening because you cannot fulfill the requirement, I regret that the completion of the appeal will not be possible without the required document. If you think it's a technical issue, please reach out to Customer Service again. If the chat is not available, please ensure that you're contacting during the posted hours.
Thank you!
Olivia

I've reached out umpteen times saying the same thing - and like inhuman robots incapable of reading what I have written - they tell me to upload ID. Simply - I am not going to apply for a passport just to get my account back. As the weeks go on with paypal unwilling to help me - I am having to change multiple direct debits AWAY FROM PAYPAL. What reason do I have to need to stay? Worse customer service ever. Left me for dead when I had a scam problem on my account- my bank had to step in and tell you to do something.
And for this you block my account. I WAS THE ONE WHO REPORTED IT!!!!!!!
I "confirmed" my bank account weeks ago, then when I logged in it still wanted me to confirm??? So I tried again - this time you took 1.99 from my bank, yet again - it still asked me to confirm. So 6 days ago I uploaded a fresh bank statement- yet it still says pending on the page. This company has no urgency to help me at all.

Another REALLY HELPFUL RESPONSE TODAY - IGNORING WHAT WAS ACTUALLY WRITTEN IN MY PREVIOUS 4 MESSAGES (AS PER USUAL):
We recently asked you to take action on your account, and we haven't received a response.
Why is there a limitation on your account?
We've recently received a report of suspicious activity on a bank account added to your PayPal account.
To help keep your account more secure, please take action on it.
We've also temporarily limited certain features in your PayPal account.
Currently, you won't be able to:
Send money
Withdraw money
What should you do?
Log in to your PayPal account and perform the required tasks.
It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing PayPal.
Yours sincerely,
Mehardeep

You must be trolling now? Or do bots have Asian names ? You "Haven't received a response"??? I'm SICK of writing the same thing over and over and over and having it be IGNORED - no help at all, but that is not considered as a response????. The LINK TO CONFIRM ID TAKES ME BACK TO THE SAME PAGE WHERE IT SAYS CONFIRM ID. I HAVE NO PHOTO ID. HOW DO YOU GIVE ME MY ACCOUNT BACK????? IT'S NOT DIFFICULT TO UNDRESTAND.
Someone did not send me items paid for via Paypal - Paypal were absolutely USELESS and would not help get my money back (thanks so much for your fraud protection) - so I contacted my bank and they DID help - and now the Paypal geniuses blocked MY ACCOUNT. Just incompetent and unbelievable. Amateur hour - well, amateur month cos you don't help me and this drags on and on.
Absolutely the utmost WORST CUSTOMER "SERVICE" of any company EVER. You really think I AM THE SCAMMER TRYING TO RIP OFF THIS ACCOUNT? AND I'D BE THIS PERSISTANT???? AND I HAVE THE FINGERPRINT AND PHONE NUMBER OF THE ACCOUNT AND CAN LOGIN TO THE APP ANY TIME ???????? Trustpilot will get a long detailed review about this.

I doubt anyone wants to help you now as you are so rude against everyone that tries.
However lets make it simple.
IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE PHOTO ID TO CONFIRM YOUR ACCOUNT THEN IT WILL REMAIN LIMITED.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
