Unauthorized account access - dispute was opened without me

I purchased an item via goods and services(may 12). The seller turned out to be fraudulent and sent me a tracking number but I called ups and they confirmed that the tracking number was not going to my address. I contacted seller and they had deleted their account(May 18). I then went on paypal to dispute the transaction and it says that an "Item not recieved" case was already opened and closed on the same day(may 12) I made the payment. I NEVER OPENED A CASE. HOW WAS SOMEONE ABLE TO DO THIS? because it was opened and closed, I can't even dispute the transaction wtf. Will paypal actually still help me in this case?? I still never received the product and have screenshots of the conversations.

This sounds frustrating especially if you did not open the case yourself. I would recommend contacting us directly so we can review your account for you and see what options are available in regard to getting you a refund. 

 

There are a number of ways to contact us. You can contact us via the "help and contact" link on your PayPal account which will give you the option to call us or contact us via our chat bot. You can also contact us via our social media channels on Twitter and Facebook
