Purchase order from unknown seller

Sorry, my wordings assumed the anxious, but obvious things are rarely clear immediately. A "seller" sent me a Prchase Order" (an advanced receipt of an item available for sale, which describes the item and its price), through PayPal. The item is expensive but the price is surprisingly competitive. If I ("buyer") send the money to the seller, does PayPal protect my purchase in case the seller does not send the item or sends a damaged item? I only have an email of the person and know nothing more.

I would NOT take the chance!!! I just did something similar and then when I disputed it with Paypal, they sided with the “seller”, (even after appeal) who is unverified, didn’t respond back to me or Paypal is outside of the U.S. (just discovered that) and has a strange email. RUN- if it sounds too good it is!!!PAYPAL is now never getting my business again!!!
