How can I appeal or refile a closed dispute?

I got scammed on Facebook. Someone posing as my elderly Friend (acquaintance) posted items for sale (but not in Marketplace, Clue #1). He said because he's out of town for the next couple days, I should place a deposit on the items (Clue #2) via "his son's" PayPal (Clue #3). Although he asked—and then insisted—that I select Friends & Family (Clue #4), I used Goods & Services because I wanted the buyer protection. That caused PayPal to lock "his son's" account (Clue #5). So, to enable "his son" to refund my money, I disputed the transaction. PayPal asked me for a receipt but I didn't have one. So, PayPal closed the dispute case in favor of the seller. Eventually, I realized my elderly Friend's account had been hacked and I've been scammed.

I'd like to try again with PayPal by... I don't know... maybe providing a printout of our text conversation. But I can find no way to file a second dispute on the transaction; PayPal seems to give one chance only.

Am I simply out of luck? $100 isn't the end of the world but PayPal should not be enabling this **bleep**.

Seems the answer is simple. I called PayPal and explained the situation; the agent reopened my dispute and changed the type to "goods not received" which puts the documentation requirement on the seller.

So, PayPal knows what the scammer has been up to and I'm hopeful that I'll be getting a refund after all.
