Fraudulent Purchases from my account 1,116.97!

In January 2020, someone fraudulently accessed my PayPal account and ordered a camera and lenses costing £1,116.97 from JESSOPSEURO. That person created a Paypal credit account and set up the direct debit for monthly minimum payments. I didn't order the camera or lenses, I did not authorize to create a PayPal Credit account - yet all that happened without me having any clue, or email and phone call. I feel it is a major access security failure on PayPal's behalf. I am not a frequent Paypal user and had no idea of what happened until a couple of weeks earlier I received a postal statement from Paypal indicating a credit balance of £750. I escalated the case with the Paypal Credit team. Credit Helpline told me that items were delivered to somewhere in the Central London postcode [removed] and he checked himself therefore he created an issue-log. In my follow-up call, the next credit helpdesk person told me that the items were delivered to my address. How could the delivery address change from one conversation to another? In my third call with Paypal Credit, I asked them to perform a full investigation of the case with the case ID provided (PT-12085015). They never got back to me until I prompted. On my inquiry, they told me 'Oh! we did our investigation and concluded that there was no issue with this transaction. No phone call or an email updating me with any basis of investigation and conclusion... I am very disappointed with Paypal Credit UK and the next escalation will be to go to Financial Ombudsman Services.

I'm going through something similar right now.  Sorry to hear this.  Paypal makes it so difficult to plead your case, and instantly goes to "you authorized the transaction!"  NO I DIDN'T.  You've lost a customer, PayPal.

PayPal must fixed hacking issues before it is too late or regulators get involved.
