Activity Download Summary for transactions older than 3 years not available. Who can help?

Activity Summary Download for transactions or even individual transactions is limited to three years by Paypal for some unfathonable reason. It used to be open for all years. The tax department can go back 7 years. I'm in a situation where I need transactions from 2019 but the back years for activities and transactions only go back 3 years. Does this old information have to be obtained by a court order to Paypal as financial documents must be available for Revenu Canada for 7 years? Has anyone been able to get a coherent answer from Paypal as it appears no one has been successful so far?

Welcome! Thanks for visiting PayPal's Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear you've run into some issues downloading history from 2019. You can download a report of your transaction activity for up to the past 7 years into PDF, Quicken, QuickBooks, or as a CSV or TAB file. Here's how to view and download statements and reports.

We need to use the same report parameters that Paypal uses for the "Yearly Financial summary report"....why is it so difficult top paypal to share the exact settings to obtain the same form, shape, information organized in the same identical form of the standard paypal "Financial summary report" whith that specific name created by paypal ?

there are only 2022 and 2023 options, AND we need 7 years  of :

"Yearly Financial summary report".

I wonder WHY if IRS ask for it (without paying for it !!) they obtain it in seconds, and we who pay for your services have to beg and cry, and fight, till by mercy somebody supplies the report?

This doesn't seem a Supplier-Client relation...it seems to me a Tyrant vs Beggars relation.

So is there anyway to download a year end recap only that is all totaled up . - end of year report, verses each individual transaction?

Welcome back to the PayPal Community!

I understand you'd like to download a statement with all your transactions totaled. I believe the Financial Summary might be what you're looking for. (When in your Reporting Portal, it's the option below the Activity Download on the left.) Creating a Financial Summary Report will add up the totals for whatever time you specify. Then, to the right of the report, you can select to download it in your preferred format.

Again, I realize it's my fault for not downloading at the end of each year. However, I didn't ...and I don't want to continue printing out a detailed transaction list. I have done this for 2016 2017 2018 . I can not tell you how time consuming it is to get the totals this way.  I would like the totaled end of the year report that is all totaled. Your system- Paypal does not let us go back past the current date we are in 2020 nor anything older. We can only go back the completed  years of 2022 2021 or this current year . SO I am not able to retrieve a summary report for 2020 and 2019 from your system.  please Please PLEASE  help if there is a way!   Can I pay for these reports, would be very happy to.

Sorry to hear about the confusion. I can confirm you are able to go back and download up to the past 7 years into PDF, Quicken, QuickBooks, or as a CSV or TAB file. However, you can only download 3 years at a time. I would recommend setting your search dates for only a year at a time, and you should be able to go back up to 7 years.

Hi Jon, I cannot download transactions for even one day from the year 2019. According to you, I should be able to download anything up to 7 years ago. Well, 2019 to 2023, including 2019, is 5 years. I can only go back to Jan 1, 2020.  Please try it yourself. This is so disappointing. I need  this solved.

OK.. Perhaps it's my wording... I realize I can download my transactions for each year going back 7 years.

I have done this... however for one year I have over a hundred pages of transactions to total into each category Sales, Purchases etc.

I need just the year end summary I can get this information for 3 years but older ... This document shows only . My totaled  sales purchases etc. 

The header states Financial Summary Report.

I would happily Pay to have a Financial Summary report Generated for the year 2019 and 2020.

thanks for the reply, however, I cannot download even one transaction for one day from the year 2019. I cannot see financial summaries under Activity either.  I can only go back to Jan 1, 2020.  Please try it yourself. This is so disappointing.
