opening a dispute would be your best option at this point, that's what it's there for 🙂

If you bought your item on eBay.co.uk (or eBay.com), please open a claim on the eBay website directly. Simply log into your eBay account and go to the ‘Contact Us' page to state your problem.

If you paid for your item using PayPal but bought it on a site other than eBay.co.uk (or eBay.com), below we include instructions on how to open a dispute through your PayPal account.

By opening a dispute, you can communicate directly with your seller to work out a problem transaction. If you're unable to resolve your dispute with the seller, and you have taken all steps to come to a resolution, you may then escalate your dispute to a claim.

You can open two types of disputes with PayPal - 'Non Receipt' (for items you have not received) and 'Significantly Not As Described' (for items that significantly differ from the original item description). If you wish to open a dispute for non receipt of your item, please wait a reasonable period for your item to arrive.

To open a dispute on a transaction, please follow the steps below:

1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click 'Resolution Centre' near the top of the page.
3. You will have the option of:
• Clicking the ‘Dispute a Transaction’ button, or
• Clicking the heading ‘Report a Problem’ and then clicking the ‘Report a Problem’ button.
4. Select ‘Item dispute’ and click ‘Continue’.
5. Click the 'Find transaction ID'. A new window displays your transaction history.
6. Click the ‘Transaction ID' you want to dispute.
7. Click ‘Continue’ and follow the instructions.
