Had major bother with Viagogo ticket exchange resulting in the need for a full refund. Allthough outlined twice in the resolution centre, the refund has been credited to a card number I recently had to cancel and not the updated card on my account which I said to credit the refund to. My account states that both the initial refund and 'credit card' refund are complete and yet the funds are still not in my account. Already been mugged off by viagogo and now paypal cannot the forfill the basic request of crediting my money to correct debit card. Any help/advice gladly appreciated.

Refunds always go back to the card that was used to pay the payment, this is automatic and paypal don't manually process the refund.
If the card was closed it SHOULD bounce back to your paypal account balance but may take up to 30 days.
If in doubt contact customer services.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I understand that this may be paypal policy but why is not possible to direct a refund elsewhere when paypal know fine well that many customers will undoubtably experience this problem. I paid upwards of £100 for tickets that never arrived due to a payment processing mistake by either paypal/viagogo or both, had my card stolen recently and therefore updated my paypal wallet with the new card. After explaining all this in detail within the resolution centre am I supposed to just sit back and watch as money I trusted papal with has it's refund time doubled or tripled as I wait for it to bounce into my papal balance only to have to wait even longer for the withdrawal process to reach the correct debit card? I am left feeling as if my money is being played around with, a far cry from the safe and swift service which papal promises. I will contact customer services as soon as possible to ensure my money arrives within the next few days.

Hey sassybb7,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the PayPal community. In addition to the response from @ kernowlass, when a refund is made and the card is expired, the funds normally are either added to the new card or the bank account linked to the original card. This will depend on the bank/card issuer. If by any change, the bank refuses to complete this task, the funds are returned to the PayPal account and available to imitate a withdrawal to your bank 🙂
Hope this clarifies the situation.
Carlos
