Hello, thank you for this. I got an email today about safecart renewing my subscription to speedypc pro. I have never bought anything from safecart or speedypc, so I think it was a scam operation. On november 2012 i was charged for 39 dollars and I never notcied until the renewall email.
Hope this does not happen again.

After purchasing some "Driver Update Software" and paying with PayPal, I was informed that the charge would show up as www.safecart.com. Too bad I didn't know safecart was a scam before purchasing. I have followed the steps suggested by "Gary" to cancel. I think it is because I don't have a subscription and it is a one-time payment. How do I cancel this payment to Safecart?

Why does Paypal even allow these bogus recurring payments? Why do they allow recurring payments that are not set up, or authorized, directly by the Paypal account holder?
Only the owner of the account should be able to authorize recurring payments. PayPal should should ALWAYS notify the account owner of any new recurring charge request AND ask for the account holder's approval for verification. My order was hijacked. A screen popped up asking if I wanted to use Paypal. It said NOTHING about Safecart or any recurring payment. I only knew that it wasn't Paypal because it didn't send me back to the purchase screen and it looked different from what Paypal usually looks like. But that was after I put my password in to go to Paypal.
I immediately went to paypal and filed a dispute and changed my password. Within minutes. That should be enough to stop them but I happened upon this blog about safecart and discovered the instructions about the page in Paypal that has Safecart authorized to take more funds in the future!! Thank you Paypal_Lucy for that tip....but that is totally wrong. Paypal needs to add a layer of security in the recurring payments. A verification should be required from the account holder. Paypal shouldn't just save them in that screen. Doesn't leave me feeling too secure about Paypal anymore.

Thanks for these instructions - the were exactly what I was looking for.
I'm completely horrified that sellers are allowed to set up recurring payments without the buyers express permission. Direct debit is so much more civilised. What can you do about it Pay Pal.

This seems exactly what I'm searching for. But the info is either out of date, or not regionally valid. Can someone please post an update that is also valid for U.S.A. users? Thanks very much!
