How long does it take for PP to refund a credit/debit card once the seller has processed?

I see that the seller has refunded my purchase because it was out of stock. My Paypal account notes that it was refunded to my card (which is a credit/debit) and I do not see the funds in my account.

How long does it take for the refund to hit credit/debit cards? 30 days like just credit cards? Thank you.

AprilA- You are exactly correct!  It can take up to 30 days to refund back to a card, but honestly it's usually done well within that timeframe.

It should resonabily take 24 hrs AT THE MOST.

This is ridiculous.  Policies like this open peoples eyes to the lack of necessity of PP.  What is the need for PP?  Just a bank looking for their end of 1% on every transaction.

PP is useless.

meaning the standard timeframe for the refund would be 30days? I'm concerned as paypal shows completed but the money is not in.

Can anyone please clarify on this

paintless_123-  The longest a refund should take is 30 days, but really it's dependent on the credit card company.  In a lot of cases, the refund has been returned to the credit card company within 10 days or so, but it's up to the credit card company to post that credit to your account, and sometimes they won't do that until the end of the billing cycle, so you won't see it for up to 30 days.

its the same for debit cards? I am still waiting for my refund to be shown in my account. There's no way to track whether the money has been refunded?

paintless_123-  Ah...debit card.  Those can be a little...different.  Sometimes the refund will post back to the card, no problems.  Sometimes...not so much.  Technically we can't refund directly to a debit card; the refund is supposed to go to your PayPal balance and from there you withdraw it back to the bank it came from.  But sometimes if the debit card has been designated a credit card in your Profile, the refund will try to process anyway.

But fear not, the money's not lost.  We'll try to force it back to the card and if that doesn't work your bank will return it right back to your PayPal balance.  But because of this process, the refund can take closer to 30 days than normal.  If you don't have the money back in your balance around the 30 day mark, give us a call and if we can't see the money coming back to your PayPal balance we can do a trace and track it down.

Best of luck!

Yep and with the new cc protection for users I bet some cc companies are waiting till the end of the billing cycle to credit the account
