Payment pending, first time using paypal

Hello, I just sold my bike off a website called pinkbike.com. I made a paypal so I could receiving my money because the buyer lives in a different state. I have not verifyed my account yet. He said he sent me the money, but it says it is pending. There is nothing showing up in my activity log, everything is blank, and my account is at $0.00. Do I need to verify my account before I can reicive my money? Thank you!

I'm having the same problem. I sold an item on ebay and the purchaser sent me money through paypal.  It was showing up as a balance in my paypal and all was well.  Then I received the notice from ebay saying that the payment will be held in a "pending balance" for 21 days.  That's all fine and good, however the transaction has completely disappeared from my paypal history.  Has the payment actually cleared, or has my money disappeared?

Welcome to the forum! 

durp--The first thing I would recommend checking on your account, would be your email address.  Check to make sure the email address registered to your PayPal account, matches where the payment was sent. 

If it does match, next check to see if the email address is confirmed.  Here are some instructions on confirming your email address.  Once the email address is confirmed, this should pull the payment into your account. 

ohmaykay---Could you take a look and see if the funds are showing in your pending balance?  If you have payment holds in place, the funds would remain pending up to 21 days.  However, the funds can be released sooner if you meet 1 of the following criteria:

1. Your buyer leaves positive feedback (Applies only to eBay items) or
2. We can confirm that the item was delivered and 3 days elapse. This gives the buyer enough time to review the order and file a dispute if necessary

Hi Lily -

I can't seem to find a place to look at my  "pending balance" but i've looked at "all transactions"  "all holds" and everything else that looks like it could be my pending balance and it hasn't shown up.

I got an email on 3/2 saying my payment was pending and then on 3/4 that it would be held for 21 days. 

The item shipped and delivered on 3/8 - tracking was 1ZY901200390001015.  The buyer left me positive feedback on 3/8 as well.

Let's see here....do you have other payments in your account that you have received?  Do you show that you have an available balance in your account?

No, I haven't used paypal in a couple of months so there is a 0.00 available balance.  If I go into the history it does show all of my past transactions, but nothing from March.

Thanks for the info, but I have already confirmed my email adress. He sent it through an echeck from his bank, would that have something to do with it? I still have not recieved anything in my accoutn

If you are not showing a payment coming into your account, I would give our Customer Service a call.  They would be glad to take a look at why the payments haven't updated.
