Money held by paypal

Hello there, I have the same problem as many of you but I want to ask 1 important question.

So, I have a client (not from ebay) to whom I preformed service (photo retouching). I sent him the photos and issued him an invoice through paypal. One week later he sent me the money and a few seconds after that I received an e-mail that my money is on hold. I immediately sent mssg to paypal, quoting the last mails from my client. This was on 6.11. Today I made a call to the support and the polite lady there repeated like a robot the same nonsense - how paypal has to make investigation, and how the credit card could be stolen and someone else paying with it, how the sender of the money may not know that money is taken from his account, blah, blah, blah.

My question is - why do you have to do "investigation" about this for 15 days, when you can just CONTACT the account holder and ASK him "excuse me, did you send the money? is your credit card stolen?". This will take up to 1 hour.

Some day there will be alternative to paypal and we all will going to prefer it, because of situations like this!

same. i'm done with PeePal. they put a hold on my money too and i don't even use ebay. like u i use PeePal to receive money for work i've done and just today i logged into my account and saw this hold message. so if PeePal is just going to hold on to my money for 21 days whenever they feel like it, then there's no point in using it. i'm just going to have people i do work for, send my compensation through good old fashion checks in the mail now.  PeePal isnt a bank so they can manage their service anyway they want because they have no competition; they're not going to change anything no matter how much we rant and whine about it so maybe if people stop using it they'll get the message.
