Money held by paypal

Hello there, I have the same problem as many of you but I want to ask 1 important question.

So, I have a client (not from ebay) to whom I preformed service (photo retouching). I sent him the photos and issued him an invoice through paypal. One week later he sent me the money and a few seconds after that I received an e-mail that my money is on hold. I immediately sent mssg to paypal, quoting the last mails from my client. This was on 6.11. Today I made a call to the support and the polite lady there repeated like a robot the same nonsense - how paypal has to make investigation, and how the credit card could be stolen and someone else paying with it, how the sender of the money may not know that money is taken from his account, blah, blah, blah.

My question is - why do you have to do "investigation" about this for 15 days, when you can just CONTACT the account holder and ASK him "excuse me, did you send the money? is your credit card stolen?". This will take up to 1 hour.

Some day there will be alternative to paypal and we all will going to prefer it, because of situations like this!

They are contacting the account holder, they sent him/her an e-mail.

The account holder usually has 10 days to respond back.

What nonsense. I've paid for hundreds of items via paypay over the years and have never received any correspondence from paypal "confirming" the payment.

Nice spin, Advisor. It's crap like that which leads me to cancel and delete my account.

yes they may call him, but you may be # 3000 on a list.  You buyer is not the only one that is being investigated.

Just so you know if the paypal account was hijacked, there is no seller protection for intangable items.

Then, good that it was not hijacked. 🙂 When the client says he will make the payment (after he received the service) and a few minutes later I receive the payment in paypal - I think that means that everything is ok. 🙂

The client wrote me that he did what paypal wanted from him on the same day, after he made the payment (this means 6.11). So now maybe I just have to wait... And after all - all this seems meaningless.
