Refund hasn't changed my account balance

Hi,  I received a refund from a retailer yesterday but my overall account balance hasn't changed.  Presumably there is a lag, which seems odd, but how long does it take for the refund to change the balance?  Thanks in advance.

If you DIDN'T use funds in your Paypal balance to pay the seller in the first place then once marked as completed it won't go back to that balance.

It will automatically go back to your bank account or card. Paypal say allow 30 days but I have never waited longer than a week for mine, however that varies country to country.
