Possible to pay a certain cost amount upfront with PayPal, and then use PayPal Credit for the rest?

I want to be able to, for example, buy an item that costs 1000. I would pay 600 off and use Paypal Credit for the rest.

Is that doable?

Can't do split payments with PayPal Credit.

Only if paying $600 from your PayPal balance and the other half comes out of your back up payment method (credit card).
