I just linked my bank acc to get paid for a job that I did and I was charged almost $300/fees.

Is there any way to avoid these fees ? Will I be charged every time I get paid?

PayPal charges fees for accepting payments, a service the provide. How much are you receiving to rack up $300 in fees? You'd have to be receiving in the range of $11K to $12K. Is this foreign currency? Is this payment from a Non-US PayPal account? Can't avoid fees. PayPal gotta keep the lights on and pay employees and users who pay the fees should not be subsidizing your payments. That wouldn't be fair.

If you received $10K domestically, the fee is $290.30 which is correct at 2.9% + 30 cents

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
