Suspicious text from 62226

I've been making quite a few payments tonight, but mysteriously got a text from 62226 informing me that a payment I made was "suspicious".
The exact text is:
"PayPal: A £xx GBP transaction with [site name] on 17 September 20018 was marked suspicious. Please reply "1" if authorised or "2" if not authorised.
I've been using paypal for nearly a decade and have never received a text like this from them before, so I was a bit cautious. I did some digging and I'm getting some mixed things on this, but it does seem like this 62226 number is actually from paypal(?), as they listed it as their UK number in a tweet from their verified twitter account.
I decided to reply with 1, though was told I'd be charged to do so. I obviously wasn't about to follow any links or give any personal details, but the fact they knew the exact transaction details, and the fact I received the text a few minutes after making the payment makes me think it's most likely genuine. Hopefully.
However, all I received in reply was:
"PayPal: Payment not completed. Invalid phone number or email. Try again. Only UK numbers are supported. No country code"
I've checked my account and can't see any issues with my payment. I also haven't received any emails about this. I made quite a few payments to the same website both before and after this one and nothing is different about them (all have the same address and payment method, etc.). I've been making regular purchases from this particular site for several years as well, so not sure what exactly is suspicious about it. Was using a home computer I've been using for 5+ years as well. Literally nothing out of the ordinary.
Is this something to be concerned about? And can anyone verify if 62226 is an official paypal number?
