Proof-based Money Release

Hi,

I am in contact with people who ask me to buy a present and sent it over. Money has been trasferred and confirmed through an e-mail saying the money will be released to my account, only after a verification that goods has been bought by me (not shipped). I have suspicion of fraud? Is this a legitimate PayPal account?

Thanks

Hello @Niko2506,

Welcome to the PayPal Community! I'm glad you reached out about this one, this does not sound like a transaction we'd normally recommend completing. While PayPal may hold funds, we won't ask you to go out and buy goods to release funds into your account. Here's a Help Center article with some other Common Scams you may want to review.

Good luck!
