I have recently made a payment via eBay check out. I didn't log in to PayPal as I wanted to use a different card. I can confirm that the payment although through eBay checkout was processed by PayPal because my card statement shows PayPal and even shows the dollar amount that PayPal charged to confirm the card which was also credited to my account.
If I add the debit card that I used on eBay to my existing PayPal account, will the guest transaction on eBay appear on my PayPal account? Actually, I've already added the card but the transaction is not appearing. Do I need to confirm the card for it to appear or will the transaction not appear at all?
I am assuming the transaction will appear as it does when you do a guest checkout and then sign up for an account.
Thank you for the help!
Much appreciated

No it will not appear. Even if you add the card. You didn't log in to associate the transaction with your PayPal account during checkout or even sign up for a new account to associate it with per the email confirmation, right? If there is a problem with the transaction. Contact customer service to see if you can lodge a dispute by giving your PayPal email address or file a chargeback with the card issuer.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

@sharpiemarker Thank you for your help! Yes, there's a problem with the transaction. I have emailed PayPal and just waiting for a reply. I have read previous posts regarding this issue and sadly, the OP was told that PayPal doesnt offer protection for guest checkout. I'm really hoping this is not the case and that they can help reverse it as it still passed their system and is probably (if not withdrawn yet) still sitting in the seller's paypal account which means that PayPal can still stop the transfer of funds and reverse it back to my account.
The bank informed me I can file a dispute through them but they will still get the funds back through Mastercard and MC will then get it from PayPal but that's a long process which could still be unsuccessful so I was told to try and contact PayPal directly.

That may not apply for you as I do not see it not covered in the purchase protection program for PH. I looked it up because I know in the US it is not covered if paid through guest checkout.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Ok.
Yeah you can check yourself to see if it mentions not covered for guest checkout because I don't see it.
