Funds Available Email

Good Morning

I sold an item on Ebay...I requested the payment thru PayPal...This morning I had an email (I'm assuming) Paypal..stating the message below:

The funds from this eBay payment is clear and now available for use. But will only reflect on your PayPal payment history upon receipt of the shipment tracking number from you. This is because in the past some sellers have exploited these payment method in order to defraud buyers, so to crate safety and secure trading environment for both buyer and seller we require tracking number to release money to you.

Is this an actual email from Paypal? I ask because I need to overnight this package, but do not want to do so if this is a fraudulent email wanting the tracking number.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you

Marsha

It's a scam getting you to ship without paying you, PayPal DOES NOT hide payments from you asking for tracking numbers (always after payment and its optional), to ship overnight, to buy a gift card, or pay a third party. If someone REALLY paid, you'll see payment transaction, even if payment is on hold per PayPal's 21 day funds availability hold.

Report buyer to eBay, cancel order as problem with buyer address or other appropriate reason so you don't get a defect, and put buyer on block list. Should they keep emailing, tell them "Sorry, I don't see payment. Have to contact PayPal to confirm." They should go away at this point since the jig is up.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
