Breach of Privacy? IOS app asked for picture of license and selfie for instant bank transfer

So I have a Paypal available balance of $xxx from something I sold on ebay recently. My funds were just released from hold and when I was about to do a instant transfer to my bank account that is already verified, the ios app asked to scan the front of my driver license and a selfie moments later for verification. Then about 45 mins later I got an email from Paypal saying I quote: We couldn't confirm your identity
Unfortunately, we had trouble confirming the information you gave us. We’re continuing to review your $xxx USD transfer, and it should be released to your bank account within the next 24 hours. Thanks for using PayPal. Is this the standard verification process for instant transfers? In the past I have always used the standard transfer that required no fee, this is my first time every using the instant transfer method. Isn't this a breach of privacy because I have never seen anywhere in Paypal's privacy statement stating their right to do so?

Hi @TW4life,

Thank you for your post! I understand your concern about this new feature. The option to use FaceID for expedited review when a withdrawal is delayed for review purposes is not always available, but when it is, it's entirely optional. I'm sorry to hear that it did not work out in this case.

The Privacy Statement can be found by clicking Legal at the bottom of the PayPal website. Optional services are referenced in the Privacy Statement.

I hope this helps!
