That's interesting Ralph because I've just realised that the same thing has happened to me. Luckily it was only £9.77. Still, there's over £100 on my balance, so I've no idea what's going on either.

So glad its not only me lol, nah sorry to hear you had same thing,
i checked my funding sourse and currently it all looks normal, also when i logged in to the access card thing its showing full balance available so i see no reason why not, i recently changed banks but not my main bank and you would still think it would use paypal balance first......
Cheers,

You would think so. I'm sitting on hold to the PayPal Access card customer services now so hopefully I'll get some answers if they ever answer the phone!

Same thing happening to me - just spotted 2 payments from bank account from the access card when there's plenty in the Paypal funds. Glad I spotted it before I ended up overdrawn! Have been trying to get through to the access card customer service but nobody answering...am guessing they are probably getting swamped with calls if lots of people are suddenly noticing money coming out of the bank that they didn't expect!

Ok I have answers, but it's not great news. I spoke to the PayPal Access card people who said that it's a PayPal technical issue and they are aware that this has been happening and its nothing wrong with our accounts, it's just PayPal are bypassing the account balance and going straight to the secondary funding source. They know its an issue, and its of "high importance" but there's no guarantee that they are going to get it fixed imminently. He said that the only solution at the moment is to credit back to the funding source from the PayPal account itself. He said we'd have to take it up with PayPal to find out when the issue will be resolved, but PayPal wouldn't discuss the Access card and told me to speak to the Access card team, so we're going round in circles at the moment.

Just an update from PayPal themselves, they said that it's with their ICT team and they're working on it now. Apparently they're "pretty quick" but there's no definitive time for it being fixed. I was told "as soon as possible - shouldn't be more than a couple of days"... I hope it isn't as long as that since I was planning on using it later today!

Thanks for the update...you have more patience than I did waiting for someone to pick up lol!! I figured with the number of people who are having problems that it was probably a glitch on their system. Relief to know it's not an individual account thing! You'd think they could have sent an email out to card users if it's not a quick fix though...would probably save them a lot of time on the phones. Bit disappointed by their customer service on this occasion...I spoke to someone at Paypal this morning who must have known there was an issue but said nothing and just gave me the number for the access card team. They could do with some co-operative service between their teams for something like this even if it's just a statement about the problem that they can read to the customer. Sigh. Oh well, at least we know what's happening now, if not when it'll be back to normal!
