Just needing to know if this is a common problem right now, or just my problem?

I started getting the error message stating shipping is not available on friday and it is still happening on Monday. I have tried firefox, chrome and IE. I have deleted cache, cookies etc. I have even tried a different computer with the same problem. The strange part is that it will process and Xpress Post shipment but not an expidited shipment and not a regular shipment (I am shipping from Canada). I called Paypal and they told me they are unware of any shipping problems and will forward my problem on to tech support with no idea of when they will look into it. Quite frustrating.

I am having the same problem. I have been attempting to sign up for Paypal Shipping with UPS and after going through all the screens and accepting the UPS Technology Agreement, I get a message "PayPal Shipping is not available. We apologize for the inconvenience." I even went back and removed my old UPS account that was connected to Paypal. I went through the process again. UPS generated a new account number for me but I still get the "PayPal Shipping is not available. We apologize for the inconvenience." I emailed PP about this and they say "It is usually a result of a browser issue." I have tried this on IE, FF, and Chrome. I have tried emptying the cache, deleting cookies, restarting the browser, etc. and nothing works.

Has anyone found a resolution to this issue or have we been just strung along for the past two weeks? It would be nice if a CS rep from PP would weigh-in on with an answer.

Joining in on the bandwagon of unable to create a UPS account with paypal (the good old "Paypal shipping is not available)...It wouldn't be so bad if I could take my package down to the post office...But it weighs almost 70 pounds.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I ship by UPS and when I select it as my carrier of choice, I get sent to the "Register UPS with Paypal" page, which from there does not work. 😞 At least I can pay for my UPS packages with Paypal.

Why is it so hard for companies to take ownership of their problems.  I don't ever remember a single time some problem has caused a feature to quit working and a call to tech support always, always, always results in pointing the finger somewhere else.

The original issue that started here was an obvious PayPal problem, which they still will not admit to nor share what the fix was.

Just step up people.  We're not going to leave you.  We just want to know that you actually know what you're doing.  We all make boo boos and break stuff all the time.

I tried printing two USPS labels through PayPal and got nothing. Froze up my browser (Safari). Tried like five times. Called, got BS responses from the first rep then got even worse from supervisor. Went to USPS site, tried to print labels there, same deal nothing. Now I'm out $20 and will wait 14 days for a %&%*#(! refund.

Here's the email I sent to (they won't let me print the email address) (the address used on PayPal, because I paid with PayPal)

To whom it may concern,

I have been having issues with label printing on PayPal. It has always worked for more than two years, but recently I began getting slow script warnings, then today, my labels would not print at all.

I went to USPS to my account and tried to print the labels through your website. Same result, frozen browser, no labels, but, as with PayPal, I was charged for them.

Now, I am out $20, must wait 15 days for a refund and must pay more and spend time in line at my local post office. This cost me over three hours of frustrating, wasted effort, all because your services are not working and there was no warning on either PayPal or the USPS site.

I know I will be getting my money back, eventually, but the time and frustration and extra cost will never be repaid.

Now I understand why so many people are angry at government and big business and why the USA is a failing nation. Because systems break down and the only people held responsible are the users, i.e., me.

I'm sure this message will get me nowhere and result in nothing changing. If you could contact me and tell me when your service will be operating properly again, it would be appreciated, but I am not holding my breath for a reply. I will remain...

Thoroughly disgusted with the US government, its agencies (yeah, I know, the USPS is self funded - but you lose billions of dollars a year), and corporations who simply do not care.

Sincerely,

Rick

Now, get this, I received an email saying that email address is no longer in service and to use:

(they won't let me print the email address) - where have our first amendment rights gone?

Maybe people printing their own shipping labels has caused the USPS to cut hours at their post offices or - heaven forbid - let some people go, so they decided to sabotage their label printing software. Wouldn't put it past them.

What a clusterf--k.

Wonder how long this post will stay up without being edited out of existence. I'm already banned from ebay's message boards.

Fix it!
