Everything is designed to benefit large corporations at the expense of individuals. It's a horrible system, currency based on debt issuance, but it will fail soon. Make the best of it, disregard your credit score (it's a form of economic slavery), and, if need be, default. The banks are all funded by the central banks (ECB, Fed(US), BOE, etc., so they can just write everything off should they please, because the central bank will simply counterfeit (magically produce more currency) more debt as currency to cover their preferred users (banks).   Cash, bitcoin, silver, gold, barter, eggs, butter, live chickens, not necessarily in that order. All forms of credit are corrupt, so any way one can escape them is a reasonable alternative. They will not survive. Central banks are living on borrowed time and make believe currency. Sorry for not posting this sooner, but I continued to research and the media rep for Synchrony directed me to the LAW governing this. Yes, once again, we can thank our benevolent legislators in congress for creating an environment that favors their campaign contributors, the banks, not their constituents, consumers. What Synchrony does is in accordance with Regulation Z. ccook, In my case, the "Amount to avoid Standard and Deferred Interest on your next statement" is the full amount of my outstanding balance and the promotional amount, so I would have to pay everything in full. Sadly, I'm carrying a balance on PayPal Credit, but that's my number. ALL OF IT... I guess they left out the part "or we shoot the dog." ;-). I've made contact with Synchrony's media rep and she has responded. I'll be putting up another post soon and will post the link here. This isn't over, not by a long shot. I'm beginning to think this is just another one of those sad cases where an institution has control and won't budge on "policy" even though the policy is irrational and tends to aggravate people and cause more ill than good. It's pretty obvious to me that the bank is trying to maximize profits by ensnaring the unsuspecting (us) into an offer they never want to complete. The bank makes nothing on Zero interest, so there must be an angle, and it's not allocating payments to the zero interest portion of the debt until there are less than 60 days remaining. That way, the poor suckers (us, again) won't be able to come up with all the cash - because we're human and have budgets, maybe? - and Synchrony can stick us with all the "deferred interest." It's a scam from the word go.   Imagine if I told you, here, here's $500. You have to pay me back in six months, at no interest. But, you can't start paying me back until there are only 60 days left to pay. That just seems a little odd, doesn't it? What if I had the money in a couple of weeks? Don't you think it's ridiculous to have to go through all of that. The process should be automatic and not involve a workaround. Synchrony is cheating millions of people. After six or more hours of frustration and three phone calls to Paypal, a supervisor finally admitted that though it wasn't PayPal's problem, USPS labels won't print without the latest version of Java, which is 7.something. Since I have an older MAC (2007) I cannot upgrade to the newest java version, so, for now, I must go back to hand writing labels.   I am confident that the USPS and PAyPal will NOT resolve this issue for older OS and browsers. And PayPal's response to this ongoing problem is to delete posts. I called last night and got my money back from the labels that didn't print and were charged against my account, immediately, instead of having to wait two weeks. I encourage everyone to do the same and complain over the phone to PayPal reps until this issue is resolved.   I, for one, will not print any labels on PayPal until I see some response from PayPal or the USPS that this problem is being addressed and fixed.   Please keep posting if problems persist.   (My long post from yesterday was deleted). I tried printing two USPS labels through PayPal and got nothing. Froze up my browser (Safari). Tried like five times. Called, got BS responses from the first rep then got even worse from supervisor. Went to USPS site, tried to print labels there, same deal nothing. Now I'm out $20 and will wait 14 days for a %&%*#(! refund.   Here's the email I sent to (they won't let me print the email address) (the address used on PayPal, because I paid with PayPal)   To whom it may concern,   I have been having issues with label printing on PayPal. It has always worked for more than two years, but recently I began getting slow script warnings, then today, my labels would not print at all.   I went to USPS to my account and tried to print the labels through your website. Same result, frozen browser, no labels, but, as with PayPal, I was charged for them.   Now, I am out $20, must wait 15 days for a refund and must pay more and spend time in line at my local post office. This cost me over three hours of frustrating, wasted effort, all because your services are not working and there was no warning on either PayPal or the USPS site.   I know I will be getting my money back, eventually, but the time and frustration and extra cost will never be repaid.   Now I understand why so many people are angry at government and big business and why the USA is a failing nation. Because systems break down and the only people held responsible are the users, i.e., me.   I'm sure this message will get me nowhere and result in nothing changing. If you could contact me and tell me when your service will be operating properly again, it would be appreciated, but I am not holding my breath for a reply.
