Hey all. I have 2-step verification on via Google Authenticator app. Please can someone explain to me how I choose a primary device (e.g. my phone), so that I don't have to enter 2FA code every time I open PayPal app?

I too am looking how to do this, are there any updates or official answers that actually accurately address the issues raised?

No. The official answers we've got so far are:
- that's intended
- you can remove 2FA altogether
They're either clueless or completely incapable of improving the UX.

Just to add one contributor to this topic.
UX is just ridiculous...
Please add this "trust this browser/app" option ASAP.

+1 - hate the experience. Face ID should be enough to have the device be trusted and I shouldn't need to open my authenticator every time. Note for support: Yes I want to keep 2FA, but we shouldn't need to use the authenticator when logging in on our phone as FaceID should be sufficient.

+1 I would like to use 2FA if it's an unknown device. If I use a passkey on my phone or mac, I should not be prompted with a 2FA request.

Workaround that worked for me:
1. Disable Face ID in PayPal settings (important, otherwise PayPal handles your login and not the password manager with the passkey)
2. Create passkey in PayPal settings
3. Sign in using the passkey
4. Confirm via SMS 2FA (I dont know why SMS. It just asked me for SMS verification even though I use Google Authenticator)
5. Close the app
All following login requests should skip 2FA due to the passkey.
