Is there some way to keep the 'trusted device' from turning on after a transaction? I never want this option to turn on and it's a pain to have to go in and shut it off after each transaction. Thanks.

Hello @tgditmer,
Welcome to our community forum and thank you for your post!
Sorry for the inconvenience! You can manage the devices and browsers you use to log into your PayPal account and remove the ones you don't use anymore. Here's how to update the settings in your PayPal account :
Click the Settings icon next to "Log out."
Click Security.
Click Manage next to "Manage where you log in."
I hope this information helps!

This is serious. I'm in a situation where multiple people have access to my devices. Looking at all the posts regarding this issue, I can't understand why Paypal doesn't simply make the Trusted Device feature an opt-in choice, rather than requiring an opt-out action after every transaction. How hard could it be for the smart programmers at Paypal to fix that!? The whole point of Paypal, so far as I'm concerned, is to provide security over the details of my bank/credit card accounts. The way Trusted Device works throws all of that out the window. I might as well go back to providing my account/credit card details direct to sellers when I enter a transaction!

I very much agree with @ephraimg.
The Trusted Device feature should have an overall opt in, or have an overall completely disable setting. Then people who do not ever want to use this insecure feature can simply turn it off.

Good luck, I tried to get this fixed a long time ago and Paypal just ignores it. I agree that trusting a device should be an opt in not something they do and then you have to turn if off. You only know if you see their email that they did it.
Paypal, trusting a device isn't your choice alone, it is first a choice of the user!!!! Maybe time to discontinue use of Paypal after many years.

Hi there, I’m frustrated by this empty promise here to “pass this feedback along”. I have a similar post https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Managing-Account/How-to-PERMANENTLY-turn-OFF-quot-Trusted-Device...
There are half dozen posts on this topic, hundreds of people asking the same question. This is a security issue that members are getting increasingly frustrated asking to turn off since the feature was introduced.
I’m not a “community forum” type person, yet here I am. This should speak volumes to someone who is paying attention.
Who can we to speak — and how do we get a hold of someone at PayPal — who can actually pay attention here and give us REAL, meaningful feedback — not this copy/paste empty response “we hear you” but leads to nothing.
We need action. We need results. Please advise.

You are absolutely right. Because of this horrible security flaw, one that i didn't even know about until recently, ive had my account accessed by someone overseas and ive been trying to dispute the charges. But because it came from a "TRUSTED DEVICE" PayPal keeps closing and rejecting the case as non-fraudulent! My checking went into overdraft and ive been fighting with PayPal for half a month now! Theres no end in sight, i just want it to be done, once i get my money back im never touching this program again. They willfully allow the fraud to take olace because whether its you or someone else pretending to ne you, as long as that person is spending money, PayPal makes a profit. On top of that, not a single customer service agent could give a **bleep** about any customers, they just run the script, pretend to do stuff on their end and feed you the same."sorry sir, I understand sir, i cant help you sir" **bleep**.

Having a forced "trusted device" feature that one has to manually take action repeatedly to undo seems not only massively insecure and designed ot promote fraud, but also seems like it would be deemed illegal if it were to undergo legal scrutiny. Not having the ability to disable this "trusted device" feature is reckless and inexcusable on the side of Paypal. Please fix this matter as a matter of priority and security importance, by giving the user the ability to turn off the "trusted device" service globally
