Payment has been on hold after i shipped package?

About a week and a half ago, i shipped a gameboy that i sold on ebay. After about 5 or 6 days, i contacted the person that i sent the gameboy too via ebay mail and they said to me that they got it and would leave feedback. When i shipped the package, i didnt use a printable shiping label, i just went to the post office and wrote down the adress of my buyer. Now even after contacting my buyer, my funds are still being held and i dont know why or what i can do in order to get my money for the gameboy. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

THEY GOT ME ON FIVE OR SO ITEMS FOR ALMOST 1800 DOLLARS ALL IN ONE WEEK IT **bleep** AND I HAVE BILLS TO PAY. I THINK THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE MONEY ON THE INTEREST AND IF I'M WRONG THEN THEY SHOULD PAY US INTEREST ON ARE MONEY.

First, let me make everyone aware that Paypal still does run this site & does indeed monitor it's content.  I found that out when months ago, I made a comment & they considered themselves "correcting" me about it being noted (very, very, small and not upfront I might add), that they do tell you your money MAY be  held.

I received an email with that information to say they will defend themselves.  Wrong is still wrong no matter how you try to dress it up with having that info. somewhere on the page, but not prominently to make your customers really aware of it like everything else you push at them being BIG and BOLD and UPFRONT to be sure they don't miss it.

Now, I sold a few handbags that ended up costing me almost $40 in fees!  NO, I did  not use all the high priced Ebay tools either.  They got me on the percentage they take from the sales prices so the more you make, the more they make.

*****I REMOVED MY FUNDING SOURCE FROM PAYPAL PURPOSELY BECAUSE I KNEW I DIDN'T HAVE THE FUNDS IN MY CHECKING ACCT. & WANTED EBAY TO BILL ME THAT MONTH (and received an email stating my funding source had been removed), BUT...PAYPAL PAID EBAY ANYWAY AND OVERDREW MY ACCT.!

They swear they would never go back and retrieve previous info. to put a pmt. through, but they did.

IF YOU DO NOT KNOW, whichever way it goes, PAYPAL OWNS EBAY OR EBAY OWNS PAYPAL, it's listed on the site, so they look out for themselves.

Two companies looking out for each other means you'll end up with the problem while they make sure they get paid.

As for your comment, I wouldn't put it past them to earn interest while they hold your money.  It's unethical, but they do it just like banks.  The difference is, you can get a free checking acct., but you're paying paypal directly.

I not only had to close my checking acct., I have to pay them for the almost $40 plus the initial overdraft, plus all the fees (about another $50 for my acct. continually being overdrawn because I didn't have the money to clear up the overdraft immediately).  That's why I removed my funding source in the first place.

EBAY is not how it was years ago.  That's why Craigslist is winning & Ebay is trying to stop them in court.  Craigslist is free and easy.  I've sold a lot on their site very easily.  Local sales really are easy.  I've had no problems.]

Generally as long as you let people know on your listing serious buyers only, meet at a very public place in the daytime, cash only....no problems.

You are absolutely correct. They are just withholding the money to make more interest. Just leave those suckers for good and spread it to your friends and relatives to never use this crappy paypal.

Call them, don't wait. It has nothing to do with the buyer leaving you a feedback. If your item has been delivered, that's all you need. I actually just finished a call with a rep. She verified that the item has been delivered (I updated the status to 'Delivered' 8 days ago with tracking number, so she could have verified it). And my funds became available immediately (well after 2 weeks of being withheld...).

So call, get your money, withdraw it to your account, and LEAVE PAYPAL!!!

I can do you one better, 100% positive feedback, no disputes, hold my money because I decided to sell an item in a catagory I haven't sold in before. This is b.s. to say the least. I called paypal and the gal says maybe you could email buyer and leave feedback before they get item, fat chance of that happening. She told me because of high number of disputes in this catagory they are basically punishing everybody. This is major crap, ebay takes a percent of shipping charges, paypal takes a percent of shipping charges, where does it end?

Wow I made my first sell on ebay using paypal and I dont expect this type of situation for now I will place order via money order take sometimes but if more secure, because when i received the money order I ship the item. You could use Paypal if you have a big company because they sell a large quantity of item but for the minority doesn't make sense wait to long to receive the money.

I think paypal is playing with our money put the money on hold on his own account and get interest in an  Suiza Bank  when they get the interest they release the money jajajaja good trick...

First off , make sure to report them to RIPOFFREPORTS.com  and Cinfed.com

Digital Rivers is a really great community for dispersing funds between buyer and seller .
