Hold on payments after delivery is confirmed?

I want to know you're experiences with this hold policy. I have sold multiple items on eBay and I always get a tracking number when I ship an item. I have confirmation that the items have been delivered but I still have holds on the money. I have also added the tracking numbers to paypal and to eBay. I have not however received any feedback yet. It has only been a few days since the items have been delivered but I want to know if I'm going to have to wait the full 20 day hold or if anyone has experience with this and can tell me how long it takes. Thanks

I recommended them too. I bet I have had 100 or more sigh up to pay with paypal. But now I would not recommend them to anyone. I would love for them to get back to what they where before E-BAY bought them.

you better check the emails from paypal because there are scammers sending out false emails that look real and are copies of ebay and paypal payment pages. Don't go by any emails before you logon to your account and check that instead of sending out the packages before seeing if they really payed.

THOUSANDS are in the same boat as you, including myself. I have THOUSANDS of positive feedbacks on a number of different accounts, but I sold an item on a newer account with less than 100 positive feedbacks and they hold the funds.
This is what Paypal is doing ILLEGALLY:
Paypal CAN NOT hold funds that are deemed necessary to complete a transaction. Even if they are legally allowed to hold the funds for the purchased item, you are receiving payment for the shipping as well, and Paypal CAN NOT hold those funds. But since they are a monopoly, they do it anyway. Why? Because every penny they hold in their accounts earns them interest. THEY MAKE MONEY OFF YOUR MONEY WHILE YOU CAN'T ACCESS IT!
You enter a legally binding contract with a buyer when they win an auction. Payment in return for the item with modest funds added to ship the item. For Paypal to intervene with their own policies on holding funds is ILLEGAL if it interferes with that binding contract and they can be held liable. Ebay no longer allows any other payment other than Paypal, so if you put something up for auction on there, you're **bleep**ed by Paypal, INSTANTLY. The very practice of ONLY allowing Paypal to complete a transaction is also illegal, but topic of another subject. In that case, they get around the law by stating "if you have your own credit card terminal, you can use that instead of Paypal".
I HIGHLY suggest we all band together in legal action against Paypal over these practices.

I have had this problem on at least three different occasions. It is a headache. I have been doing business with Paypal for about 5 years and have 100% positive feedback over my 50 + transactions. In each case I was told (after the sale) that my items were in "high risk" category (musical instruments). I have been told that the hold is "random," but this happened to me THREE times.
I have gotten my money promptly by doing this:
1. if sending a more expensive or "high risk" item, send an email to buyer that you will leave positive feedback for quick payment, but it is important that buyer provides seller positive feedback as quickly as possible to avoid this situation of funds being held.
2. make sure buyer receives item (i.e. delivery confirmation)
3. As soon as you receive positive feedback, IMMEDIATELY call Paypal and request immediate release of your funds. (Note: they may STILL hold them for another 3 days). After all, at this point, buyer has paid, has item, and has provided feedback.
This is the ONLY way, under current rules, I have been able to get my money before 21 days are up.

I agree this is not good business. I can’t make someone leave positive feedback even though I have done everything in my power to ensure a smooth transaction. The item was delivered on Friday of last week and they are still holding the funds until Feb 7. If they would get off their dead horses a** and look at the tracking information, this will state the item was delivered. This is a joke that has really turned what was once a great way to do business to now a total nightmare. I don't have an EBay Store, I don’t make a living off EBay. What I do is very few and far between, but if this is the hassle I will face each and every time, than I shall go to Craigslist and work out money orders or cashier’s checks only.

I could not agree more. When this happened to me, I called Paypal and asked them how I was supposed to ship the item without having the funds. Part of the money they hold is the shipping cost! They told me that I could always ask the buyer to leave positive feedback (BEFORE I even shipped them the item!) so that the funds could be released, so that I could afford the shipping.
Are they crazy???
I can understand the policy is in place to protect people. Really, it's a good concept. But I can't understand WHY Paypal won't at least release the funds we charge for shipping, so that we can use those funds for shipping, instead of having to be out of our pockets not only shipping but also the indignity of having all of our money held from us! If the buyer disputes anything, most sellers won't refund the shipping cost anyway, so Paypal won't be out any money!
Wish there was another company that we could go with instead of being subjected to Paypal only.

I cannot believe that a buyer can bid for an item and simply force the seller to pay for shipping, insurance and hope that the payment will be received once the goods are out of your hands. PayPal have you entirely lost sense of any ethical business practices. How can PayPal expect that a seller will just fork out merchadise and cross their fingers to receive payment. PayPal you have truly lost it this time.
