Temporary Hold on Refund

I paid for something through paypal (not on ebay) but then almost immediately cancelled as I found a problem with my order. I made and cancelled the order on 17/09, got my refund back on 20/09 but it a temporary hold has been placed on it. I understand that this has something to do with the payment actually being taken from my bank account. However, the payment has now cleared from my bank account, but my refund is still being held. Does anyone know how long it will take for my refund to be released? Thanks!

seems to be a real problem without any proper explenation, i bought something, paid by paypal, the seller then refunded the payment and asked to be paid again ? , now my moneys lost somewhere in the paypal system and although it says refunded , i still have no access to it ? if i transfer money in and out of paypal with my bank its instantly there, why not now ?

l think yourself lucky as my temporary hold has been so far since the 3rd june now its the 15th!! so what the reason for that??????/

As I buyer I sent funds to a seller who them refunded me when they did not have the product.  I want to be sure that they still arent trying to scam me by making me wait through this temporary hold until is apparent they acutally  did not allocate the funds to refund me....  

In summary does the temporary hold only have to do with me and the seller funds are clear ?

There was no need to pay on my behalf the money had gone straight away from my account. I've been waiting 2 weeks for a refund. Last time I use eBay or PayPal.

hi i recieved a re-fund from a web site after i cancelled an order, when i checked my paypal it said the money had been refunded but had been placed in temporary hold. why would this happen?
