im selling an item on ebay and have a buyer but he does not want to go through ebay . he says he is paid via paypal and western union transfer about he cant give me a reciept number and i cant trace the money at all, and now he wants me to pay 350.00 for the postage which he said he put sufficent money in to cover my cost. i asked him to go through ebay for the item but no reply so im confused what do i do?
Common scam. In your item listing you set conditions. Anyone who tries to get you to do anything different is a scammer. Scammers love new eBay sellers.
it could be a scam. never transact outside ebay, it's against the policy. make sure that the payment is posted on your paypal account before you ship out the item
Never ever do that!! Only accept Paypal and that's it, I don't care how much they try to persuade you, they always say they sent a check and they always want to make it for more than what the actual amount of the item is and want you to send back the difference, I've seen and heard it all when it comes to this scamming crap so tell him where to go and never do it again!!
you could ask for the money to be sent first and only after you recieved the money and verfied the check or money order is good, then mail out your product. But I do have to agree with everyone else, it sounds like a scam, you need to report it to paypal and some how alert everyone. If you haven't heard from your possible client, then you can pretty much believe it is a scam.
